Getting To The Gold Coast

Need a bit of help working out your best travel options for Spilt Milk? We’ve got the know-how on getting to The Gold Coast this December.

FROM BRISBANE

DRIVING

Brisbane is a short 1hr 40min drive away and, if you’re planning a day trip, there will be limited parking available at Muriel Henchman carpark. Due to limited parking, we highly recommend you make a weekend of it, book some accommodation and use the bus services available to access the festival (find out more here).

BUS

Greyhound offers a daily bus service from Brisbane Coach Station to Surfers Paradise, taking approximately 1hr 20 mins.

TRAIN

You can take the train from Brisbane Airport to Cypress Avenue, Gold Coast, to reach your accommodation or the festival shuttle buses. There will also be shuttle buses connecting Nerang Train Station with the Cypress Avenue Shuttle Bus service.

FROM SYDNEY

DRIVING

Sydney is 847km from the Gold Coast, and if you’re planning on a road trip it’ll take you a solid 9 hours via the Pacific Highway. Add some extra time to grab some food or break up the epic journey and stop an extra night or two.

Bus

Greyhound offers an overnight bus service from Sydney to Surfers Paradise, taking approximately 15hrs.

FLYING

It’s only 1hr 20min of flying time to get from Sydney to Gold Coast, with regular flights each day available on Jetstar, Virgin and Qantas. If you’re coming into the Gold Coast airport, the best way to the city will be to book an airport shuttle bus with Con-x-ion Airport shuttle. There will also be City of Gold Coast public buses 700, 705 and 711 travelling from the airport to Surfers Paradise which take anywhere between 1-1.5 hours, pending traffic.

FROM MELBOURNE

FLYING

Flying is going to be the quickest way you’ll get from Melbourne to Gold Coast, clocking in at 2hours, there are regular flights with Jetstar, Virgin and Qantas. You can find the full list of flights on their websites.

DRIVING

If you’re a not a fan of flying, maybe this epic roadie’s for you – clocking in at a 17+hrs driving time, you can get from Melbourne to the Gold Coast via M31 and Pacific Highway. Or you could head to Spilt Milk Ballarat… check out our other locations here.
