Private Bus

A solid option, if you’ve got a big group and coming from any location, is pitching in for a private bus to get you from A to Spilt Milk! From Melbourne

Bus

Wanna sleep in your own bed at the end of the day? Melbourne on the Move will have buses to get you to Ballarat and back on event day. Your ticket guarantees a return seat & takes the stress out of trying to get home at the end of the night. Read more about them here. Train

If you’re travelling to Spilt Milk from Melbourne, express V/Line replacement buses will take you from Melbourne to Ballarat Station. From there you can jump on a free shuttle service to the festival, picking up on Mair Street via Coffee Palace Lane. 

Driving

If you’re keen on the #roadtrip with your mates and want to make a weekend out of it, Ballarat is only a short hour and a half drive from Melbourne!

From Regional Victoria

Bus

Train

If you’re travelling to Spilt Milk on a train line, express V/Line buses will be replacing trains Ballarat Station. From there you can jump on a free shuttle service to the festival, picking up on Mair Street via Coffee Palace Lane. 

Drive

If you’ve got a deso and want a good old fashion road trip then the road to Ballarat is an easy drive. You’ll be able to pull up right next to the festival in the dedicated all-day parking lot off of Gillies St. Parking requires a pre-purchased car or bus pass which you can buy here.

FROM ADELAIDE

FLYING

Adelaide has regular flights each day to Melbourne airport with Tiger, Virgin, Jetstar and Qantas. The flight is a short hour and twenty minutes. From the airport the best option is to book the Ballarat Airport Shuttle Bus which will get you there in an hour and a half. Otherwise you can catch a train from Southern Cross Station.

DRIVING

If you’re keen on a road trip with your mates, Ballarat is just a 7 hour cruise down the A8. There are plenty of places to stop along the way and grab a feed. So grab your friends, nominate a deso and blast some tunes on the way down.

BUS

Catching a bus is a good budget option if you don’t want to drive yourself. Firefly has overnight buses from Adelaide to Ballarat from $65 which will take you straight to Ballarat Station.

FROM TASMANIA

FLYING

If you’re travelling over the bass strait for Spilt Milk Ballarat, flying to Melbourne will be the quickest option. Hobart has daily Tigerair, Virgin, Jetstar and Qantas flights. Launceston has similar daily flights to Melbourne except for Tigerair. From the airport the best option is to book the Ballarat Airport Shuttle Bus which will get you there in an hour and a half. Otherwise you can catch a train from Southern Cross Station.

DRIVING

Determined to road trip it? You can drive onto the Spirit of Tasmania to cross the strait from Davenport to Melbourne. From Port Melbourne it’s only an hour and a half drive to Ballarat.

FROM PERTH

FLYING

From Perth it’s a 3 hours flight with Tiger, Virgin, Jetstar and Qantas to Melbourne. From the airport the best option is to book the Ballarat Airport Shuttle Bus which will get you there in an hour and a half. Otherwise you can catch a train from Southern Cross Station.

FROM SYDNEY

DRIVE

Sydney is just under 1000kms to Ballarat. If you’re planning on driving, it’ll take around 10 hours to make the trip down the M31.

FLYING

Sydney is only an hour and a half by plane and has daily flights with all the usual companies. From the airport the best option is to book the Ballarat Airport Shuttle Bus which will get you there in an hour and a half. Otherwise you can catch a train from Southern Cross Station.

TRAIN

There is an overnight train that runs from Central station to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne which will take about 10 hours.
